The True Leader for the better country

Born in a humble Maharashtrian family on January 30, 1951 in Pune, Prakash Javadekar was influenced by the work of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and became its member.Thereafter, he worked for the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party which led him towards path of more than 50 years of Public Life. During all this time he has played various roles in the Party and the Government and shouldered all the responsibilities with utmost sincerity and dedication.

Joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Organized several Students’ Movements under the ABVP in various capacities

1971

Joined Bank of Maharashtra

1975 - 1987

Elected as Senate member of Pune University

1975 - 1977

Organized Satyagraha against the Emergency rule and imprisoned for 16 months at Yerawada jail

1977

Released from Jail
Campaigned for Janata Party candidate Shri Mohan Dharia during Lok Sabha Elections in Pune.

1977 -1979

Worked in the tribal areas of Thane district of Maharashtra for revival of Development projects launched by the Bank of Maharashtra.

Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on its formation on 06.04.1980

1981

Resigned from the Bank of Maharashtra to work as a fulltime ‘Karyakarta’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

1984 -1990

Shouldered the responsibility of National Secretary and General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha

1985

Participated in Young Political Leaders Programme (ACYPL) in the USA

1989

Organised Sangharsha Rath Yatra

Became Campaign Head of BJP for Maharashtra Assembly Elections

Participated in Ram Janma Bhoomi Andolan

Elected as Member of Legislative Council from Pune Graduate Constituency

Organised Vikas Yatra in 49 villages across Maharashtra on various issues concerning general public

Became Spokesman, Maharashtra State BJP
Published booklets and also conducted Lectures explaining the Budget to common people

Became the Executive Chairman of the Maharashtra State Planning Board

Re-elected as Member of Legislative Council from Pune Graduate Constituency

1996 -2000

Chairman of Gramshakti, a NGO working for Rural Development.
Successfully implemented watershed development projects in Kolvan Valley of Mulshi Teshil in Pune District.

Chairman — Task Force on IT, Government of Maharashtra

Recevied Best Ligislator Award in Maharashtra State Legislative Council
